Upper picture: The planting pattern of the two Sedum species is still clearly recognizable.

The numerous skylights provide the rooms below with sufficient light.  

The roof has been planted with two different species of Sedum, as specified by the architect.

Upper picture: The undulating sloped green roof merges the building beautifully with the surrounding landscape.

Just three months after completion the plants already had thriven splendidly.  

Due to the use of precultivated Sedum mats, the roof was covered by vegetation quickly.

This unconventionally styled lecture hall building was designed to incorporate the principles of sustainable development. Especially the low use of energy and water as well as the durability of the materials were considered in the planning.  

“Sedum Carpet” – low in maintenance and growth – provides a decorative cover of the roof and protects the waterproofing.

The irrigation pipes were installed above the filter sheet, the entire surface beneath is covered with Floradrain® elements.  

The growing media and the gravel (for the edges) are distributed evenly all over the roof surface.  

The plants are applied according to the design plan.
