On the former US military territory in the Scharnhauser Park in Ostfildern, an ecologically exemplary and family-friendly housing estate was developed. On top of the parking garage one finds an unique combination of a modern living concept and an extraordinary experience of na-ture. Altogether the Scharnhauser Park was designed very child-friendly. There is a playground in the “Blue Garden”, part of which is a little artificial creek that collects rainwater and flows into a small pond serving as a cistern. Floradrain® FD 60 elements have been installed as they are suitable as a sub-construction for all kinds of ambitious intensive green roofs.
